Singer Davy Jones had been scheduled to perform in Miami in April

Monkees lead singer Davy Jones, who died of an apparent heart attack in South Florida on Wednesday, had been scheduled to perform in Miami in April with another former teen idol, David Cassidy.

The two — who at the height of their careers had millions of young female fans — were set to perform together on April 14 at the Magic City Casino Amphitheatre, 450 NW 37TH Ave.

Jones frequently appeared at nightclubs and casinos in South Florida.

On Wednesday, Magic City announced on its website that Cassidy, who is also a local resident, would perform alone and a replacement for Jones was in the works.

“Due to the untimely death of Davy Jones, we are currently in the process of confirming a replacement act. The show will go on as scheduled. He will be missed,” the casino announced.
