Ashley Greene kissed
a girl — and she liked it. The "Twilight" actress has shared the screen
with plenty of hunky leading men, like Kellan Lutz and Sebastian Stan,
but it's her lip lock with Olivia Wilde in the March 16 comedy "Butter"
that she says "ended up being really fun."
"It wasn't that awkward," Greene tells Lucky magazine
in its March issue. "It's the same idea as having to kiss a male
co-star and it's not real. Olivia is such a cool chick and very
professional. So we were just messing around and cracking up in between
scenes …
And now I'm the envy of every straight male everywhere!"
And with a dating history that
boasts Joe Jonas, Chace Crawford, and Kings of Leon bassist Jared
Followill, she's also the envy of women everywhere. But the
pretty brunette, who is currently dating Broadway's Spider-Man, Reeve
Carney, adds that she's careful not to let romance distract her from her
work. "I'm so laser-focused on my career, because when you're dealt
these cards, if you don't kind of run with it, then you're an idiot,"
Greene says. "What's most attractive to me is someone who has the same
amount of drive as I do, someone who's equally busy."
With the "Twilight" saga nearing its end (the last film in the
franchise, "Breaking Dawn — Part 2," hits theaters in November), the
24-year-old has been hard at work establishing her place in Hollywood
with more diversified roles, like "LOL," opposite Demi Moore and Miley
Cyrus, and "The Apparition" with Stan and "Harry Potter" star Tom
Felton. "'Twilight' has given me something to skyrocket off of," she
says. "But now that it's ending, there's so much work to be done. And if
I don't do it then 'Twilight' is all I'm ever going to be known for, as
great as it is."
Greene, who also had a recurring role on ABC's "Pan Am," adds,
""Basically I went from 'dying to get a gig' to dying to get the gig
everyone wants. So now I'm in this realm with a lot of highly respected
actresses, which is an amazing place to be, but also kind of
terrifying."
In addition to acting, Greene — who started out as a teen model in
her native Florida — has also proven herself to be quite the fashionista
on the red carpet. But the DKNY ambassador has suffered for the sake of
looking good. She tells "Lucky" about the time she wore a dress with
boning so tight "it bruised my rib cage." Worse yet, when she attempted
to use the ladies room, "I couldn't unzip the dress and I couldn't pull
it up," Greene recalls. "Oh and also my feet were numb because I was
wearing these ridiculously high Brian Atwood heels that were beautiful
but—it was just the most painful experience ever!"
The March issue of Lucky magazine hits newsstands February 7.
