Sofia Vergara named Most Desirable Woman of 2012 in AskMen poll: 'Modern Family' star beats out Kate Upton, Rooney Mara for top spot

Sofia Vergara’s killer curves and bubbly personality has earned her the top spot of AskMen.com’s 99 Most Desirable Women of 2012.
Up from the third spot last year, the brunette bombshell of “Modern Family” beat out Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” star Rooney Mara and Victoria's Secret Angel Miranda Kerr, who held the number 2, 3, and 4 spots, respectively.

"I am so honored to be AskMen’s most desired woman this year. A big thank you to all the men who desire me," Vergara, 39, said in a statement.
Fashion-forward singer Nicki Minaj took the #5 spot, followed by Emma Stone, Scarlett Johansson and Kim Kardashian. Rihanna and South African model Candice Swanepoel round out the list’s top 10.
Blake Lively, who took top honors in last year’s poll, appears to have lost some of her appeal, having dropped down to the #32 spot. The same goes for Megan Fox, once viewed as one of the world’s sexiest women, who barely made the list at #96.
A few surprising additions can be found on the diverse list of women, however.
Soul singer Adele, tennis star Caroline Wozniacki and George Clooney’s girlfriend, Stacy Keibler, secured placement in the poll. Lastly, Her Royal Hotness Pippa Middleton just made the cut at #98, a landslide away from her older sister Kate Middleton, who came in at #11.
“With more than a third of the women on this year’s list being first time honorees, it is clear that men are intrigued by women who are new on the scene,” said AskMen Editor-in-Chief James Bassil. “The 2012 Top 99 Most Desirable Women are an eclectic group – which explains the wide range in what today’s man finds appealing.”
