Kate Middleton, Prince William Adopt Cocker Spaniel Puppy!

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are officially parents -- to a cocker spaniel puppy, that is.

After months of rumors, the palace confirmed Tuesday to The Today Show that Prince William and Kate Middleton  have adopted a male cocker spaniel puppy through a "family connection." They were photographed strolling on the beach with the adorable pooch earlier this month.
The confirmation shoots down false reports that the royal couple had adopted a chocolate labrador puppy.

No word yet on what the royal canine has been named, or why William and Kate chose the breed. William's grandmother Queen Elizabeth famously prefers Corgis, while her son Prince Charles and wife Camilla adopted a Jack Russell terrier in August named Beth.
